Eagle104 is designed to work with the xPC Target™ real-time kernel from the MathWorks and it supports all xPC Target™ features. Eagle104 supports both PC104 and PC104+ interfaces. The I/O of this system is provided by add-on PC104 and/or PC104+ I/O boards. Each system is customized by installation of customer specific I/O modules. We support all PC104 and PC104+ form factor based I/O boards which are supported in the current release of xPC Target™. Eagle104 supports the network boot option in xPC Target™ thus eliminating the need to handle bulky floppy/CDROM drives. This makes the Eagle104 system ideal for mobile applications as well.

I/O SUPPORT

We provide a standard set of I/O options which satisfies typical rapid prototyping requirements: analog to digital, digital to analog, digital inputs and outputs, counters, timers, encoders, pulse width modulation, and CAN bus support.

In addition to the standard I/O options noted below, Eagle104 can be customized by requesting any additional I/O options that are supported under xPC Target™. Please contact the third party with your specific IO requirements and an applications engineer will assist you in the selection of right I/O cards for the Eagle104 system based upon your application.

Analog and Digital Input and Output Board

  • A/D: 32 single-ended, 16 differential, or 16 single-ended and 8 differential channels with 16-bit resolution, various unipolar and bipolar input ranges up to ±10 volts, 5 μs A/D conversion time, and autocalibration.
  • D/A: 4 channels with 12-bit resolution, various unipolar and bipolar input ranges up to ±10 volts, 6 μs D/A settling time, and autocalibration.
  • DIO: 24 TTL lines grouped into 3 8-line ports, each of which can be either an input or output

CAN Bus Interface Board

  • 2 CAN channels
  • SJA1000 controller for CAN 2.0A (11-bit standard frames) and 2.0B (29-bit extended frames)
  • Onboard microcontroller that offloads main CPU
  • Firmware that operates board in FIFO or object buffer mode
  • Notification by interrupts

Incremental Encoder Input Board

  • ENC: 3 up/down 16-bit counters with reset input, TTL levels, 1 MHz maximum input rate, and various operating modes
  • DIO: 18 TTL digital input lines and 6 TTL input or output lines
  • 2 general-purpose digital interrupt input lines

General-Purpose Timer/Counter Board

  • CTR: 32 general-purpose 16-bit counters for general pulse-train generation and general pulse-width measurement, with 40 MHz maximum clock frequency.
  • DIO: 32 signal level digital I/O lines
  • AIO: 16 analog inputs

Power Supply

  • Clean, filtered power for Eagle104's bus
